Spokes for Folks Bicycle Sales

Since 1996, Deb Craven developed and ran Spokes For Folks in Victoria County and now The City of the Kawartha Lakes. In 2004, Deb encouraged Mike to manage the store here in Cambray. Who knew that our little wee shop would do so well!? We would like to send out our heart felt gratitude to our hundreds of loyal customers, because without you, we would be nothing. Many of you have become our good friends and family. We are with gratitude to be able to give back to our community and to be part of the founding of the Kawartha Cycling Club founded in 2006. We know how important it was and still is to have a voice for the development of safe cycling routes and solidifying safer laws with which to navigate our roads with; Share The Road campaign.

Mike decided to retire the 6 day-day-a-week schedule at our shop in April, 2019, and has recently returned from a short working position at a start-up shop in Lindsay. We are slowing down but have not screeched to a halt. Mike is enjoying his retirement (sort of) of 50 years in the bicycle industry and is now at home in the workshop at Spokes For Folks. Here he will be taking appointments for specialized work. Appointments will also be taken for tune-up and repairs for your bike upon agreement with Mike. We will consult with you for bike purchases and order as required. Currently, we are “THE” Marinoni dealer in the Kawarthas.
If we cannot meet your needs, we will refer you locally.

Spokes For Folks is nicely transitioning to the studio and gallery of Wheel Works Pottery and the Kawartha Cycling Club hangout and training centre. The shop is open most Saturdays (with exception to art shows in the area) and will be open while Deb is slinging mud on her wheel. It is best to call ahead of time to visit the galley during weekdays. The club meeting and training centre on the premises welcomes you to gather, have a coffee, train on your trainer or one of the Smart Trainers, or watch the current bike race on the screen. You can pick Mike’s brain for tips about your bike and training techniques. An extra repair stand is available if you call ahead.
Visit Deb’s website: www.wheelworkspottery.ca  The pottery you see on the wesite is merely an example of the work and is constantly changing. There are no on-line sales.    You can contact her or make your appointment at The Spokes For Folks phone number for enquiries: 705-374-4633
